The Union's membership is open to any person:

      Born deaf or deafened and living in or visiting Ireland

      55 decibels hearing loss in the better ear

      member must have and comply with a Constitution and Rules
      appropriate to a golf club

      accept and comply with the Rules of Golf and the Rules of
      Amateur Status as approved by the R & A.

      accept and comply with the Handicap System and Standard
      Scratch Score prescribed by CONGU and such rules thereunder
      as may require to be implemented from time to time by the IDGU.

      Non Irish deaf or deafened person still welcome to join as a member
      and play in our competitions but ineligible for the selection on
      the Irish Team participating in the international tournaments.
